Le Flamant Rouge: Our house

Late 19th century Maison de Maître, Peyriac-de-mer

Le Flamant Rouge Guesthouse is an old elegant Maison de Maître in the Narbonne area, situated in the heart of the village of Peyriac-de-mer. This Maison de Maître was built in the late 19th century by wealthy wine makers.

Maison de Maître, the french name for ”Master House” is constructed in a bourgeois style, with high ceilings, gracious details such as fireplaces, stone floors, wood panelling and a grand staircase connecting the floors in the centre of the house.
The house is located in the very central part of Peyriac-de-mer, just a few steps from the central café, the lovely bakery, the church and the social but quite village life. In front of the house there is a park, belonging to Foyer de l’Etang, with a small fontaine, palm trees and amazing roses.

Entering Le Flamant Rouge…

Entering Le Flamant Rouge will immediately take you into the reception area and the kitchen with social bar area. The kitchen is decorated by the famous Peyriacois artist Mr Alain Raviot, the former owner of the house together with his charming wife Madame Raviot. The tiles in the kitchen are actually an art composition by Mr Raviot – expressive and original!

Did you ever dream of being a chef?

Well, the kitchen, the food and the guests are here! We are happy to introduce you as Le Flamant Rouge’s Guest Chef for a night! You could cook typical food from the area – lamb, duck, fish, herbs, figues, peach, cherries, oysters, gambas, tagine, paella, cassolet, cheese and more! Cook for your family only – or invite other people staying at Le Flamant Rouge!
The hallway will lead you on to the Dining Room, a beautiful room with a big rustic dining table where all the Flamant Rouge friends eat together, discuss, relax, read, work, listen, laugh – and of course enjoy breakfast, food and wine!

Ground Floor – Dining Room, bathroom, office and back yard

The Dining Room is available all day for our guests. From the Dining Room you can walk outside to the back of the building, where we have a table and chairs for your morning coffee, evening drink, your lunch break or just to enjoy the quietness of Peyriac-de-mer.
On the ground floor you also find the shared bathroom and office for La and Le Patron of Le Flamant Rouge.

First floor – Le Flamant Rouge Guest Rooms

The first floor consists of three rooms, The Albert Camus Room, The Georges Braque Room and The Coco Chanel Suite. The Coco Chanel Suite has its own small hallway and a private bathroom. This bathroom can be accessed through the hallway in case Le Flamant Rouge guests decide to share that bathroom as well, for example when there are groups renting the entire Le Flamant Rouge.

Second floor

The romantic Edith Piaf Room is on the second floor,  with an amazing village view. You’ll find the shared, fully equipped bathroom on the same floor.

We wish you a warm Welcome to Le Flamant Rouge – this charming French Maison de Maître!
