Peyriac-de-Mer – Our Village

Our village, Peyriac-de-Mer, has approximately one thousand inhabitants.
It´s situated in the departement of Aude, in the region of Occitanie. The village is surrounded by salt lakes and lagoons – étangs – with a rich flora and animal life. Our countryside is one of typical garrigue – low vegetation with many herbs. You walk among thyme, rosemary, Spanish ginst, often along the vineyards.

Please note!

There is no cash dispenser in Peyriac-de-Mer. We recommend you bring cash when you come here, even though most of the restaurants and shops accept credit cards.

Monday is the weekday when many stores are closed in France, also in Peyriac-de-Mer. The restaurant and the grocery store is closed on Mondays.

During summer it’s recommended to book in advance if you want to have dinner at O Vieux Tonneau.

During winter the restaurants are not open every night, check their website or contact us before your stay if you want to have dinner in Peyriac during the winter.

And remember that you can use the fridge and the kitchen at Le Flamant Rouge if you want to dine “at home”.

It can also be good to know that we accept animals at Le Flamant Rouge, so feel free to bring your pet!

Peyriac de Mer is situated in the Corbières wine district in the region Occitanie.
Of particular interest in this region are it´s beaches and salt lakes, canals (Le Canal du Midi) historical places and wine production at well known wineries.
